During the month of May, both visitors and locals can buy one, get one free admission to many of the museums throughout the city. Use the opportunity to explore creative works and fascinating exhibits on the cheap.
The Great Sunrise Balloon Race
Arrive at the Homestead Air Force Base just before sunrise to see dozens of colorful balloons float up to the sky in unison. Following the balloons’ lift-off, attendees can join in the festivities which raise money for a local charity
Brew at the Zoo

Taste of Haiti
Where: Museum of Contemporary Art, 770 NE 125 St., North Miami
Spend the day feasting on traditional Haitian dishes including Griot and Soupe de Giromond, prepared by chefs from several local restaurants plus, a Chef’s Cook-off, live music and cooking demonstrations.
Redland International Orchid Festival
This annual festival welcomes some of the top orchid vendors and exhibitors from around the world. In addition to educational programming, the festival also includes guided tours of beautifully landscaped gardens.
Held at The Fair Expo Center, this annual event is a celebration of Cuban culture. Art exhibits, live music and cultural demonstrations are accompanied by delicious, authentic Cuban food throughout the festival.
